Sound & Visual Barrier in Southwark, London

Southwark Council built a new development of several apartments, and the scheme included demolishing garages and building a new play area for the residents. Unfortunately, knocking the garages down exposed all the neighbouring gardens, through the existing slatted metal fence. This created an unwelcome lack of privacy and exposure to the noise of children playing.

We were called in to find a solution to the problem, and advised the client to construct the fence from their side of the boundary which avoided disturbing fourteen separate residents, saving time, money and frustration. We often work closely with our client, sharing expertise to streamline projects, and this project is a good example of how we achieved this.

The final solution was a visually pleasing, robust, timber acoustic-style fence, fitted to the existing steel fence providing privacy and reducing intrusive noise.
